Directions
Getting to Luleå University of Technology amounts to getting to
Luleå. Consult the web pages of the municipality of Luleå for ways to
reach the city.
Once you have reached the city, the university is situated
some 5 kilometers north of the city (as the crow flies) and
is easily reached
by car (the taxi ride from the center is about SEK 130; phone +46 920
10000 or +46 920 66666 to get a taxi), bus (lines 4,
5, 8, 12, 41 with one of the local red-coloured buses, which costs
about SEK 20). There are also several paths devoted to bikers (a 20
minute ride). It takes about 45 minutes to walk so it's not really
within walking distance.
From northern Finand and the south of Sweden, Luleå is easily reached
by car via the
E4, a motorway that passes Luleå. Visitors from northern Norway should
consider driving along the E10 motorway that goes over the mountain
ridge between the two countries and connects Narvik to
Luleå. Although the public means of transportation are good in and around
Luleå, a car is convenient if you like to explore the region and (in
particular) the wilderness:
