• Read a very good article on sessions and Ajax and how it should be handled. The problem is how to handle state in the application and where to store the state information.

2006-03-05

• Updated my menu include code so now it supports subdirectories as well. Tricky to write dynamic sites with JavaScript.
• Added a transport discussions page. Work in progress...
• DOMscripting by Jeremy Keith seems rather good and I will read it next week while traveling.

2006-03-04

• Started reading JavaScript Bible by Danny Goodman, Michael Morrison.
• Did some reverse engineering on "products" on the net that do "interactivity" in chat clients and I guess XMLHTTP is the (only) way to go.

• Received a bunch of DHMLT, AJAX, XML, DOM, and JavaScript books from Amazon.

2006-02-27

• Added project plan page.
• Read up on object orientation and created object oriented JavaScript include which can include several sub.html part in parallel. JavaScript:
  • includeobj.js: This is the generic object oriented loaded.
  • includeall.js: This is a container that loads the relevant menus for this site.

• Created first version of this site.
• Read about JavaScript and learned how its rather awkward object orientation works. Created some small test programs and made the menu on the right dynamically loaded when the page is opened so the menu only has to be changed in one place. The AJAX in Action book is rather good.

• Project statement published.
